I put a 10 gauge staple in my septum last night. My friend at High Priestess fudged it a little bit so it bled alot and had to stick a taper in it to get the retainer through, so it was a nice adrenaline boost. It was fun. I'm praying it will heal straight enough to wear a little 10 or 8 gauge tusk in a couple of months.
My nose is all swollen and about 4000% its usual stature here.
The new layout was a mistake. I'll be revamping soonish. Believe it or not, I do have a playlist in the works also. Stay tuned.

Okay.
So. I know I said I'd do the show tonight. I even made a 1 1/2 hour playlist in a day (which is a record speed for me).
KWVA PROS
-Being in a real live radio studio is fun.
-Its nice to listen to my own set from start to finish.
-I get callers sometimes.
-FM broadcasting is really cool.
-Motivation to keep doing the show- cause I feel like I have to.
KWVA CONS
-I'm not even actually supposed to be on KWVA- I never applied. I just sortof took over my boyfriend's slot. He is technically supposed to be there whenever I am.
-Responsibilities. KWVA wants some absurd number of volunteer hours per month that I couldn't apply to do even if I wanted to because I'm not supposed to have a radio show.
-Rotation. KWVA wants you to play 3 songs from their selected rotation library PER HOUR. Yeah, right.
-20 minute bike ride from my house. Its December, its raining. I have to lug my laptop across town in the dark, cold, pouring rain in the middle of the night.
-No listeners. Its midnight, its Wednesday. None of my friends who listen to my show live in Eugene or tune in on FM band anyway.
All of this twice a month can be a pain to deal with. Steve has opted out of his part of the show completely, thus it would be my responsibility to create a new show every week. And, not to complain, but I'm scheduled at work every single day (since last week) until Christmas. I know that I'm not up for that kind of undertaking right now- Though I may apply to be a KWVA DJ on my own for spring term.
So I made the decision not to go down to the studio and to make a podcast and post it at midnight instead. I just have one problem: no host. 2 hours worth of .MP3 is about 200MB which is well over the limit of all of the free podcasting host websites I've looked at tonight.
Sooo.. I'm going to figure it out tomorrow, I promise. I swear. I have a playlist, and its a good one. And you will hear it. Soon.
Sorry dudes.
Update.
Wow, Podcasts sure are a huge waste of time. Its taken me half a day to work this out, but I cut and pasted the whole set into one huge file and exported it to MP3.. now I am uploading it to a server at podOmatic.com - it should be available tonight.
Next time, I'm just going to zip the damn thing and upload it to mediafire like I should have been doing all along.
